Rarely Sports Increase Risk of Eye Disorders - Rarely exercise, frequent smoking and unhealthy diet can make eye disease. In a study published in the journal Ophthalmology, it is known, a combination of genetic and lifestyle factors lead to AMD synergistically.

AMD is a chronic medical condition that can not be repaired, which leads to loss of central vision due to damage to the macula, or central part of the retina.

"If you have a family history of AMD, the good news is the findings of the study indicate there are things that can be done to reduce the risk of AMD in yourself," said one researcher, Julie A. Mares of the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the US.

Study findings obtained after the researchers studied the risk of AMD among women aged 50-79 years. They then evaluated the diet and exercise patterns of 1,663 women to be categorized into several groups (low, moderate and high).

This study shows, about 337 women suffer from AMD. 91 percent of them are in the early stages of the disease.

Then, the participants were healthy diet is not healthy, have a history of AMD genetics, smoking at least seven packs per day, lazy to exercise, a 4-fold risk of experiencing AMD. Compared to those with no history of genetics and a healthy diet with exercise for at least 10 hours per week or at least eight hours of moderate activity such as brisk walking.
